The Area

Being situated in the centre of the small town of Hugh Town makes shopping for essentials very easy. There are two banks, a small supermarket and many other interesting shops. On the island is a small golf course and if you are so inclined a riding school. There are historical sites and beautiful walks. If you like under water diving this is just the place to come and can be tried by all from beginners to the seasoned divers. Boat trips to see the seals on the little groups of islands known as the Eastern Isles are a regular feature. There are many fishing trips available and also trips to the famous Bishops Rock Lighthouse. It is possible to hire windsurfers and sailing boats. Bikes are also available for hire. There is no cinema, or bingo halls just beautiful breathtaking scenery and the sea is the colour of turquoise in the shallows. The beaches never get crowded hence it is an ideal place for children to play as there is so much space for them to play in.
